Furthering the Arts at Saint James Catholic School!

The Gala is our school’s biggest fundraiser and benefits Saint James Catholic School in many ways. Every year at the Gala, we designate a portion of the proceeds for a special purpose, called our “Fund-A-Cause.”

This year’s Fund-A-Cause designation will enhance our Art classroom and benefit every Saint James student. Fine Arts are alive and well at Saint James Catholic School. Time spent in Art fuels multiple areas of our children’s brains, and having an improved space for creating will make their classes with Mrs. Shumate even more valuable.

The funds raised this year will be put towards Arts improvements such as a kiln for ceramics, a print press, easels for painting, looms for weaving, display shelves, physical changes to the studio to accommodate the new items and improve utilization of the space, and possibly even a 3D printer if we raise enough funds. These added tools will enhance the critical thinking and creativity of our students and give them a greater opportunity for self-expression.
